Trail of the Fox: A Musician’s Memoir
By GEORGE FOX
MORE THAN JUST ABOUT EARNING FIVE GOLD ALBUMS, THREE JUNOS, AND 19 TOP TEN RECORDS, GEORGE FOX TELLS A FASCINATING STORY THAT BEGINS GROWING UP ON A RANCH IN THE FOOTHILLS OF ALBERTA.
His journey brings to life plenty of characters that engage and entertain, giving a sense of how it all happened for George— singing and strumming songs that would one day place him in front of millions and take him around the world.
He has plenty of insight and reflections from rural Alberta and onward down to Nashville, where he worked with Music Row influencers and players of that era. It all comes to life in recollections and anecdotes, along with heartwarming and emotional moments of faith, loss, and challenges on his way to success.
But where does Greg Oliver fit in?
I was the editor for Trail of the Fox: A Musician’s Memoir and laid out the book for George Fox.
It was a great experience, though not without its hiccups.

George Fox, Gilles Gratton and Greg Oliver on April 27, 2025, at the Sport Card Expo Toronto.
In the acknowledgements, George wrote:
First and foremost, for his tremendous help getting things across the finish line, I would like to thank Greg Oliver. His determination in helping me edit and lay out the book—putting his full expertise (and patience, I’m sure!) towards its completion—is much appreciated.
